Experience Tracking

Experience Tracking in Bridgit automatically computes the experience team members gain from working on projects, based on configurable factors like build types, owners, architects, and locations. Experience data helps you evaluate team composition, identify expertise gaps, and make informed staffing decisions.

Eligibility/Prerequisites

Required Configuration: Experience tracking must be enabled in your account. Once enabled, an admin will need to configure fields to be used for experience tracking in Settings > People > Experience Tracking

Permissions: Experience data respects role-based permissions. Users only see experience for team members they have permission to view.

How to Use

Configuring Experience Tracking

Before experience can be computed for team members, an admin needs to configure the fields that experience could be tracked for:

  1. Go to Settings > People > Experience Tracking

  2. Select and Save the project fields that you want to track experience for. Supported field types include text and single select.

Importing Experience

To ensure data completeness in Bridgit, you can import experience that team members gained from projects planned outside of Bridgit or from previous employers.

You can do this in two places:

  • Settings > People > Experience Tracking (Bulk Import)

  • Profile > Experience tab, click "Add Experience"

Only administrators can add experience.

Viewing Experience Summaries on Profiles

  1. Navigate to a team member's profile

  2. Click the Experience tab

  3. Select the Summary or List option to view experience data.

Viewing Team Experience on a Project

The relevant experience of a project team is summarized on the Team tab on a Project.

Q: What do companies track experience for?

The most common fields used for experience tracking include build type, owner, and market sector.

Q: How is experience calculated?

Experience is calculated by looking at he number of days a team member was assigned to an awarded project. The calculation is not impacted by assignment %.

Q: How do I upload historical experience?

You can import experience that team members gained from projects planned outside of Bridgit or from previous employers.
